Slope Stabilisation
Innovative, practical solutions to help your project run smoothly and efficiently
We provide a complete design, planning and implementation service for all types of slope stabilisation. Each stabilisation project is unique; we can determine your requirements from a site visit.
Soil Nailing
Soil nailing reinforces and strengthens the existing ground by installing closely spaced steel bars grouted into a slope or excavation as digging proceeds from the top down. This process creates a reinforced section that is itself stable and able to retain the ground behind it.
Reinforcing action is developed by friction
along the nail length, through nail-ground interaction.
Rock Anchors
Ground anchors are pre-stressed cement-grouted tendons used in rock to restrain and control the displacements of structural elements such as walls or slabs. They are essentially vertical or lateral load carrying, developing resisting force by stressing the soil around the anchorage length.
Reinforced Earth Slopes
Reinforced earth slopes provide an economic and aesthetic alternative to conventional retaining walls, replacing them with natural, landscaped, sloping structures that can be made to be almost indistinguishable from the native terrain.
Mini-Piling
Mini-piling is a practical method of slope stabilisation in situations where access is restricted, e.g. low headroom or close to adjacent buildings. Mini-piles are structural supporting members that use conventional drilling methods with reinforced concrete technology as compression members or ground cantilevers that improve slope stability.
Contiguous Piles
In situations where existing structures are located close to site boundaries or where geology and ground water contribute toward ground instability, contiguous piles are a simple and effective method of providing both temporary and permanent earth support.
Piles are installed using continuous flight auger techniques as vertical cores in undisturbed ground to the required design depth. The core is then filled with concrete reinforced with vertical and helical steel bars. Once the concrete has sufficiently cured, excavation can take place on the low side of the cast piles leaving an in-situ retaining structure in place.
The piles can then be faced with brickwork or any other appropriate system.
