Ground improvement and slope stability measures took the form of half a kilometre of gabion retaining walls providing permanent bank support as part of extensive new stream diversion works and flood alleviation measures adjacent to an existing railway embankment.
The contract also included forming new surface water outfalls and ditch liners in gabion mattressing with gabion baskets to footbridge piers and abutments togther with similar stone faced gravity structures and timber log retainers in rear gardens and feature wall areas.
