This project was up to a year in the design and planning phase with the client prior to commencement on site where even the location, timing of installation and effectivity of the site tower cranes was taken into consideration. This consultation paid dividends when it came to the programming, management and coordination of the works on site.
All external retaining structures had to be constructed in and around the main building drainage, services, foundations and internal RC retaining wall groundwork activities on a narrow frontage site, with some 14m of fall from front to rear.
Amongst the first activities on site, an extensive reinforced earth steel mesh and stone faced temporary ramp had to be designed and installed to allow access for all build activities.
Permanent earth retention systems included all-embracing reinforced earth concrete modular split faced walls up to 5m in retained height including features, internal and external corners and steps to match with terraced landscaped timber crib terraced retaining structures to the garden areas.
